Busy Bee

Buzzzzz buzzzzz.... ok, so that might be more annoying than cute.

So, I have been working on a few projects!  I just finished a pair of bloomers and they look really cute!  I have a picture of me wearing them... but I have no idea if it would be appropriate for me to post that... With the top I am wearing they just look like fluffy shorts...  and I look cute in the picture, but I don't want to offend anyone by posting it so I wont unless you really want to see them.

Bloomers aside, I am finally finishing that hat box!  I am not going to post pictures of it just yet because it is not done yet.  I have still painting the outside of it and then once that is done I will be making a lining for the inside.  If this continues to go well, I will make hat boxes for all my hats!... that is going to be a lot of boxes in my room.

So... now that I have made the bloomers... I am going to work on the dress that I said I was going to work on but only put it off...  Today is the day that I finally cut the fabric... I'm so nervous... really, what if this comes out looking like crap?  Or I make it too small?... well if I make it too small I am sure someone else will want it so long as it would fit them properly and I didn't make a massive piece of crappy-frill.

Well, I should go work on that since I am now being kicked off the computer.  Stay pretty and pray that I don't fudge this up...

Overdue Vacation/Holiday Photos!

Ok, so I have been pretty bad about updating.  The goodnews is that I have actually been working on some craft projects.  I am currently working on two new hats, another hat box, bloomers, a Lolita skirt I can wear to work, and there is still my dress.

So here are the pictures that I promised before.  I sadly didn't get to wear Lolita every day, but thats ok.  I still had a lot of fun with Mason!
These are pictures of Mason and I at the movies from the Lolita meet up.  We were going to make plans to see the American Pie movie, but sadly it didn't come out until the day AFTER Mason was leaving.  Still, we had fun at the movie we did see, and I am glad that Mason gave the movie a chance.
MASON AND I ARE IN A MOVIE TOGETHER! XD  The day the US has a movie out that is Lolita themed is the day that the world will be overrun by poofyness.... one day... one day...

And pictures from the Lolita meet!!!!  Yay!!!!

We are getting excited because we look so pretty and we are going to see a pretty movie! ^-^

I feel like I really stand out in this picture lol  Everyone looks so cute.  Thank you Mason for taking pictures!

More standing around and taking pictures!

I think this was Mason and I's first day going out to the mall... we found some Forrest creatures.

Shame on you Mason, for not thinking that I wouldn't post this :P

Beer and purple Fire truck!  Because when we set fires in MD, our flames burn purple!... or something like that.

This is Mason and I out with our friends Quinn and Gabe.

Quin and Gabe!... as you can see Quinn is not a Lolita, but we forgive her because she has awesome hair!
 I met a Pirate!

 Cafe Hon

Inside Cafe Hon, I did not feel comfortable taking a lot of pictures... so this was all I got.  That and I was really hungry and Mason and I were making googly-eyes at each other for most of the trip... which explains the main reason why we don't have many pictures... and I kept forgetting to bring the camera and I hate taking pictures with my phone.
We went on a Haunted Pub Crawl in Fells.  This is our tour guide.  Say hello tour guide!

And this is Josci and Josh, we are getting our drink on :D
Mason's first time having a Naty Bo

Me in my Harry Potter themed Lolita outfit.  Which reminds me, I am going to do a plug for the RP site I am on.  If you like the Harry Potter world and online role plaything through message boards, here you go!

And this is where we found a place where you can adopt your own water bubble child!  They entertain themselves pretty much on their own, but if your going to get one you might as well get a second one because when they try to play with each other, it is hilarious!

Vacation is over :(

So, my Holiday has been over for almost a week now.  I miss my boyfriend, and wish we had taken more pictures, but to be honest the amount we took is still amazing.  Like normal, no pictures in this post as I wanted to make this post more about describing my awesome trip with my boyfriend!

Thrusday evening, Mason (that is what I will call him for now) landed into MD.  I was happily waiting for him with a handful of flowers.  This was the first time a guy has crossed an ocean for me, so the least I could do is give him some flowers as I welcomed him to America (he is from the UK).  Neither one of us could not stop smiling, and I really should have taken a picture because I wore the Luna hat he got me for Christmas (and we just looked so cute!).  After settling into the Hotel, we went down to the resturant to have a very over due dinner date.  It was great, and soon we turned in for the night.

Friday morning we thought it would be a good time to check out the nearest mall.  Arrundel Mills.  We first started out at the Bass Pro shop (probably my dad's favorite store).  It had been a while since I was there, but there were some changes.  Mason seemed pretty impressed with everything.  There was even a shooting arcade and we took our chances at doing that.  We made some videos that I may or may not post.  I didn't do as well as I had hoped lol.  After that we continued to troll through the mall, where I spent almost all my spending money for the week... on the first day!  When Mason and I get married... he will have to take charge of the checkbook!  I bought the first Fatal Frame game, and some Anime from FYE.

Saturday...  I think we either did more shopping at the Harbor.  After shopping we went to Cafe Hon.  Wow that place was much more busy than I thought it was going to be!  I know that the resturant was on Kitchen Nightmares, but before Mason and I got there, I was worried that things might not have stayed with the changes that Chef Gordan gave... FYI, they don't call him Chef in the UK, just Gordan.  I was happily surprized.  Mason has breakfast as I had a yummy burger!  I love pickles, all burgers (except pizza burgers) should have pickles!  After that, Mason and I went back to Fells point for the Haunted Pub Crawl... we arrived late lol  When we got there, we met with our friend Josci and her boyfriend.

I am taking a moment here to just point out that this post is being made very late, I am sleepy and therefore there are all sorts of mispelling and grammer errors and I am sorry for that as I butcher the English language.  Back to my awesome week!

After the crawl the four of us hung out, got some pizza and ended up calling it an early night.  It was really fun and I would have done it again :)

Sunday- Movie and Lolita day!!!  Mason was dragged to a Lolita meet, and it was really nice having my boyfriend there with the other girls, and showing him the stuff that I am into.  For some reason though, all the girls (and guy) were wearing black and I was wearing a very classically sweet blue dress from Bodyline.  Everyone looked great, and though I stuck out a little, I didn't mind it so much as we all looked great.  We had gathered together to see Mirror Mirror, which Mason secretly didn't tell me he was not interested in seeing, but now claims that he enjoyed the film :P  I enjoyed it as well too.  After the movies, Mason and I went to our friend, Quinn, house.  Originally Quinn was going to make dinner for us, but it turned into a full blown party, with beer, wine, and lots of food... so much food I couldn't move at one point and Mason might have found the one food he cannot live without, so now Quinn needs to give me cooking lessons lol.

Monday- Six flags!!!  I think we are going to do amuesment parks every meet up :)  Which the next one is looking to be around October, and maybe I can convince Mason to do Halloween with me at Hersey Park :P  Anyway, we had a lot of fun at Sixflags, took some cute pictures, rode some rides.  There was some stuff that we missed, but we can always go back again!

Tuesday I think is my favorite day!!!  First we drove back to my end of town where I showed Mason off.  Everyone really liked Mason and thought we looked really cute together (I mean how could we not?).  We went to see Into The Woods and then had dinner afterwards.  I got to dress really fancy (but we forgot to take pictures.... sorry).

Wednesday.... I got sick... so we stayed in all day and Mason took care of me :)  After I started to feel better, after sleeping ALL day, we went to Dave and Busters, where we got lots of tickets and dinner (I had a very tiny bit of a salad with very light dressing).

Thrusday....  Mason went home on this day...  We tried to find some stuff to do to blow off time.  Went back to shopping around the mall and then we went to Historic Savage Mill, which I wasn't as impressed with it as I thought I would have been, but I am interested in doing the paintball, ziplining or lazer tag.  It was a very long goodbye at the airport, but it was a great and wonderful week.

The Roaming Lolita

Hello ladies and Gent! (yes, just one, because as far as I know only one guy reads this XD)

So, my Boyfriend is going to be coming to town!  YAY!!!  He is making the long trip over the pond just to see me :D  Now I don't normally post pictures of myself on here, aside from my profile pic, but I need to learn how to take more pictures with my camera!  So during his trip here, we are going to sight see around MD!  During this time I will be wearing some of the garments that I have made, some you have seen and some you have not seen.  I will also have some Bodyline dresses as he and I are going to go to some meet-ups.  He will not be dressing in Lolita (Ren will never let him live it down if I got him in a dress, and of course there would be pictures, but at least I would make him a spiderman Lolita dress!) but we are going to see Mirror Mirror with some other Lolitas and my niece, and he will be wearing a hat that I use for my Pirate outfits, (its unisex, so nothing OTT/Over The Top).  This reminds me, make a pirate Lolita outfit for the Renaissance Fair.

So, I will try to make Daily updates from my boyfriend's computer of the things we have done each day.  Now every day might not be a Lolita Day, but do keep a look out!  Now, I keep saying I am going to work on packing, but now I really need to knuckle down and do it!

Stay Pretty everyone! :P

Dress Update

So I have actually been working on my dress, yay me!

So as of right now I only have the muslin mock-up made.  The silhouette (is that right?...) of the dress does not look very Lolita, but it looks like something out of the 1920's, so I still love it!  I have pinned everything together and it looks lovely.  The next step is to cut all my fabric, and then put them together.  90% of the dress is made up of this cream and tan plaid, it much more pretty than it sounds, and then 10% of it is fabric from an old shirt that I loved!  I also plan on lining this dress, so before I sew the actual fabric, I will be sewing the lining.  If there is enough fabric, I would love to make a hat for it, and not a mini top hat, an actual normal hat lol.

As I always promise, I will have pictures of the muslin piece and then pictures of the actual dress once it is finished!  This is the first time I am creating a pattern for something, and honestly it was hard work, which is what I expected, but I didn't think it would be this hard after simplifying the pattern!  Though now that I have done it, I am excited to make a new one, or at least playing with the pattern I created and altering it into something new.

Well ladies and gents, I am going to call it a night because I am sleepy and need rest both for work and to work some more on my dress!  Night!

Stroke of Genius!

So, I am sitting here and possibly thinking of breaking my vow and buying a Lolita dress online.  What stops me are two things.  The first thing being that the dress I wanted, they do not make in my size.  The second being that I could make most of these dresses (well, I think I can).

I find this one JSK that I really want, but looking at it, it looks fairly simple, I could probably make it.  It kind of looks like the dress I want to make, but my design looks rather complicated... Then I realize that revamping the design to make it easier to sew, would not be a bad idea.  I can still keep most of my design but make it easier for me to handle and then after that I can work on some harder stuff.  This might seem like a boring post, or maybe every post I make is boring, but for me this is exciting.  I have off work tomorrow, I know what I am going to be doing all day!

First I have to re-sketch my design.  Then I will cut out a pattern from the muslin that I have, sew it all up and make sure it is fitted correctly.  I can honestly say that I have gone from being horrified at the thought of putting this dress together, to feeling excited again!  Hopefully I will have something for you to look at soon!  Night all!

Photo Dump!!!

Ok people!  The long awaited photo-plop!  So I have decided that I am going to just share the things that I have made, instead of waiting for a fashion show.  I realized that my stuff did not look like a collection.  Next year I am going to try and join in my school's show.  This is providing that I actually can afford to go to school and get financial aid.  Now you might notice... that everything I have made has been... skirts... because I am nervous to move on to actual dresses, for fear of it coming out horribly wrong.  After this next skirt I am working on though I am going to try and tackle the dress because even though I am scared of doing it, doing it and failing will make me a better designer and seamstress.  Plus I might surprise myself and it comes out awesome!

Anyway, on to the photos!!!

This is the Story Brook fabric.  I still have more, but I don't have anymore of the trim I used for the hem sadly.

I love how this skirt came out, and so does my mom.  I want to get more fabric and make more of them!

This is the skirt I made for a friend of mine!  I am really glad she liked it.  I am now working on another skirt that looks like this.  Its going to be a little longer and the front will be a bit different.

I still have so much fabric!  But first I need to work on that dress I was talking about.  Now crafts are going to be fewer now because hours for me are going to be jumping up, and it sadly is going to cut into my family time too, but hopefully that is just temporary.  Keep a look out for updates, I will try to make them when I can!
